Now I'm absolutely convinced that YouTube has everything you could ever want to watch. I was foolin' around on the internet the other night, and for some reason the movie "Kenny and Company" popped into my mind. I thought, "Gee, I've always heard of this movie and I've never gotten a chance to check it out."
For those of you who don't know, "Kenny and Company" was the directorial debut of "Phantasm" director Don Coscareli. It's a fun "Bad News Bears" style comedy about a bunch of irreverant pre-teens growing up in the suburbs -- kind of a whole movie about the kids that make Tommy Wallace smash his pumpkin outside the school in "Halloween".
So I looked up some clips on YouTube, and Holy Crap, they didn't just have a few clips, they had the entire doggone movie right there, and I'm watching it right now, cut into ten minute segments. It's pretty good.
I started to believe in the endless possibilities of YouTube just recently, when I did a quick search for "Mr. Boogedy", this really old, and really obscure Disney Channel flick that used to air around Halloween during the mid-80's when I was a kid. I hadn't thought about it in years, and it's just one of those things that you just start thinking about. Well, I did a quick search, and there it was. Holy Cow! I watched the whole thing and it was a real nostalgic kick.
I guess that's what technology's good for -- reminding us of the times when we didn't have its luxury.
